Child and Adolescent Counseling

For parents

We understand that parenting can be quite a challenge. Parents do the best they can with the knowledge and resources they have available, but parenting does not come with a handbook that tells us exactly how to navigate the steps... and if there was, who would have time to read it anyway?!

Many of our clinical therapists are highly skilled, trained, and experienced in treating many child and adolescent diagnoses and disorders.  We are able to support your child in addressing a wide range of issues, including, but not limited to:

  • anxiety, fears, and worry

  • depression and sadness

  • non-suicidal self-injury (commonly called cutting)

  • foster care/adoption transition

  • self-esteem and self-worth

  • bullying/cyberbullying

  • school issues

  • family issues

  • divorce

  • trauma recovery

  • ADHD

  • behavioral issues

for children and teens

Sometimes, even when they are trying their best, parents just don't seem to understand. It's almost like you are each speaking a different language!  We understand the pressures of being a child or teen; you're expected to make good grades, follow the rules, and be a good person and friend.... all of this while you're trying to figure out who you really are! That doesn’t sound easy at all!

As a child or teenager, you may feel that you just cannot talk to your parents or caregivers and you feel lost, confused, and misunderstood.  Counseling is a safe space for you to be heard, to be respected, and to be YOU. Together we will identify goals that you want to achieve and we will create a plan to achieve these goals; helping you to feel confident and heard. We can help you overcome current challenges and prepare you to handle the ones that may arise in the future.

A person’s a person, no matter how small.”
